Lucky Cowboy Code
Throughout their lives, great men often cultivated a code by which they lived. In modern society, such ideals have lost their luster. However, there is a movement among many of our youth to revitalize moral and ethical codes in everyday life. You don't have to be a knight or a cowboy to be chivalrous and respectable. You simply need a code.
The Lucky Cowboy Code promotes individuality, achievement and tolerance of others. "Hike Your Own Hike" may be a hiker's slogan, but interpreted by the Lucky Cowboy Code it has deeper meaning.
The Lucky Cowboy Code suggests you be yourself and live your life as you see fit. Seek to understand your own uniqueness, your strengths and weaknesses. Use this understanding to improve yourself and to build your self-esteem. Use achievement and positive relationships as tools to cultivate a strong sense of self and greater self esteem. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. And when no one else believes in you, a strong sense of self and belief in yourself will carry you on to you success. (Personally, I love it when people don't believe I can do things, or when they hope I fail. I simply use it as fuel!)
You can read books about success, relationships, and happiness until the cows come home. You can listen to books on tape, attend motivational seminars on the same. But until you learn to accept yourself and believe in yourself, you will never achieve it.
Therefore, the Lucky Cowboy Code suggests you believe in yourself, build yourself up through achievement, and build up others by supporting them and their own personal growth. Spend time with positive people and develop great relationships that last. Embrace their uniqueness, tolerate their shortcomings, and they are likely to do the same in return.
LC83 Symbol
The LC83 symbol was intended to be a secret code, a puzzle of sorts. But so many people have asked about its meaning, I've decided to reveal the secret.
In the tradition of the real cowboy, this might be called a brand. In the tradition of the thru-hiker we consider it a trail name symbol. Many hikers go by trail names, and when they sign the trail logs, they often include a graphical mark alongside.
LC83 represents the Lucky Cowboy Code. LC is an abbreviation for Lucky Cowboy. Almost everyone gets that part. It's the 83 that tangles their lassos.
Here's the answer. If you rotate the 83 counter clockwise and then stretch the 8 horizontally, it makes a cowboy hat. For most, there's no need for an illustration. However, for those left-brain thinkers, see above!
